The Heights was founded in 1996 from the ashes of Nacho Mama's Burritos which met its demise earlier the same year.

It was a temporary setback for the continuous owners Joseph Samad (Samad's Deli & Amir's Falafel) and Larry Good (Toast Restaurants). They have fortunately risen to new heights under the guidance of Feras Samad to become the go to spot in Morningside Heights.

The unique upstairs spot was the first in the area to bring hand crafted beer and gourmet food served up rapido. The addition of a four season roof-deck with retractable roof only added to its allure. The enclosed roof-deck has not only become a year round hot spot but also an impressive party space that allows our patrons to wine and dine outside looking over Broadway.

From Burritos to Burgers to Wings The Heights continues to impress. For those who think of us as only a great watering hole, take another look. The food has been lovingly maintained for years by Bruno (FCIA Trained), Kone, and Nacho. The Heights has some of the best constructed Margaritas and Martinis around. Frequented by students from the university and families from the hood The Heights offer's an unparalleled respite. The Administrator named after our friends at Columbia University is a cocktail for the ages.

With Two-Daily-happy-hours the atmosphere is assuredly lively. The daily action is overseen by longtime Morningside presence Aref Samad who runs the show making it a complete family affair.
